Hi, I'm Kidon. That's not my actual name, but it's what I would like to go by. My nation is Republic of Itchkerie, which is based entirely on Chechnya. I've talked to very few Chechens to be honest, but I plan on playing my nation by ear.
In real life I'm from Detroit. I enjoy history, language, and theology. I do not know what I will do when I'm older, as I live my life one day at a time, but I might try going to college for engineering or getting a Masters in Divinity and going into christian ministry. Ultimately in my career, I would like to benefit peoples living situations. I have a great respect for civil engineers who help in achieving that. My godfather used to be an architect, although he did not enjoy working in that field because many of his acquaintances were people with filthy mouths and bad attitudes. If I do end up getting a Masters of Divinity, I would likely spend my time pursuing missionary work in some far corner of the world where there is a greater need for priests. At the present moment though, I'm collecting savings for a car so I can get to work easier and studying for my GED since I flunked in freshman year of high school.
I enjoy worldbuilding, which is why I joined NationStates to begin with. I've used it as as tool on and off for creative writing, just something to kill time and hone my skills. I figure that the more I write, the better I will get at it by reading what I have written, fixing my mistakes, and making a habit of not making those mistakes again. Of course I also do a lot of reading. As for my roleplaying abilities, I think I am a good player, as do most others I have roleplayed with. I used to be involved in several D&D communities on Discord but with my fluctuating schedule I find it harder to sit down for games. With writing on NationStates, I can do things at my own pace (within reason). Sometimes I feel guilty because I have not updated my nation in a long time.
Anyway, that is the end of my introduction. I'm working on an unofficial wiki for this setting, as I find it hard to dig through forum posts for information. If anyone wants to check it out, it's at caersidi.wikidot.com . As of writing this, I still need to fix a bunch of stuff like the intro page, but if you click on Contents you should be able to see some of what I've been working on. Very early stage, but hopefully I will be able to get it looking real nice and have comprehensive information by mid-June.
